"Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi is an urban campus university. This implies that regular students may find accommodation in one of the hostels; still, some students prefer to find their own accommodation somewhere else in the city. The University of Iasi can offer accomodation for about 3000 students in 9 hostels. These limited places are allotted according to the students' average qualifications and professional results. Married students can be also accommodated. Students can have their meals at University refectories. University hostels and restaurants are governed and administered by Student Committes and Faculty Councils. For ECTS students, accommodation is guaranteed in advance on request. Starting with the academic year 1998/1999, the University provides special accommodation in accordance with European standards for visiting foreign students at the International Student hostel - Codrescu campus (Gh.Asachi Street). This hostel is situated within walking distance from the main University Building, the University Library and the student cafeteria. Capacity: more than 350 places in single/double rooms. Please inform the ECTS departmental coordinator well in advance of the date of arrival so that proper reservation can be made (use the form enclosed in the Information package). The accommodation includes facilities for bathing and cooking. The rooms are furnished. Students are expected to cook their own meals or eat at the university student cafeteria. This cafeteria is situated in the "Titu Maiorescu" Campus, near the main University Building. Foreign visiting professors are usually accommodated at the University Guest Houses:
